Funny Anime Memes People Die if They Are Killed
Many times, intentionally and unintentionally, anime gives birth to hilarious moments. Many of the meme images floating around the internet utilize actual quotes used in the anime, as they can be ridiculously strange. The visuals range from goofy to serious and are often accompanied by strange translations or an odd plot.
These translations, taken out of context, make these quotes even more memorable than the shows themselves. Many people can recognize the quotes and the resulting memes, even if they haven't seen where they originated from. The shows the quotes are from are also gems that are worth a watch.
10 People Die If They Are Killed
Although uttered with complete seriousness and even present in the visual novel, no one can seem to take this quote seriously. Spoken by Shirou Emiya In Fate/Stay Night, he states something that makes much more sense in context. He explains that most people won't be able to recover from fatal injuries, but that's the way things should be. Fans would much rather take this quote out of context, because the redundancy of this sentence is absolutely hilarious.
9 Did You Really Think Killing Me Would Be Enough To Make Me Die?
Taken from The Misfit Of Demon King Academy, Anos Voldigoad fights the god of time, who he had angered by changing events that happened in the past. The god of time seemingly lands a killing blow, but quickly discovers that he didn't actually succeed in killing him.
This leads to the memorable line, where Anos boasts that killing him isn't so simple. However, the impact of this scene is destroyed by the way Anos worded his sentence.
8 Why Exactly Are You Working Part-Time At MgRonald's, Satan?!
If the knockoff name for a huge burger company wasn't funny enough, it's even funnier to hear that Satan is flipping burgers for a living in The Devil Is A Part-Timer. After forcing the Demon King to retreat to Earth and to live as a normal human, Emilia Justina follows him to the human world in order to make sure he wouldn't survive. Naturally, she was shocked to find that he was making an honest, minimum wage living. Most people would be.
7 He's Cleaning Our Floors, That Fiend!
In One Piece, Zoro is spotted by some Marines, who notice him wielding three cleaning brushes as if they were his swords. They quickly recognize him as the pirate hunter who joined Monkey D. Luffy's crew and attempt to arrest him. Hilariously, they seem offended to find that he has been cleaning the floors, as if that in itself was some sort of crime. Rather than stopping his cleaning spree, however, they get knocked out by the brushes in no time.
6 Don't You See? The Toilet Bowl Will Accept Anything From Me! He's My Ideal Partner!
Strangely enough, fans of Soul Eater have seen Marie Mjolnir express her desire for a toilet in both the anime and the manga. Some fans have even gone so far as to say that her words are relatable. Her words about a toilet bowl's acceptance isn't technically correct, since there are plenty of things that shouldn't be flushed down a toilet. However, the accompanying image of her in a wedding dress next to said toilet is the icing on the cake.
5 My Neighboring Classmate... Is A Completely Normal Eight-Grader Who Happens To Look Like A Dog
Shiba Inuko-san is an anime in which only one student is able to see that one of her classmates is actually a talking dog. The concept itself is hilarious, showing the ways in which a dog tries to fit in and act like an ordinary student and even somehow managing to use chopsticks.
The quote is one of the first few lines in the anime, but it effectively tells viewers what they should expect from the rest of the show.
4 Babies Are Full Of Strong, Fresh Energy. Babies Will Be Our Next Target
Sailor Moon R introduced two alien villains: Alan and Ann. The last of their species, they came to Earth in order to steal energy from people to save their lives and the life of the Hell Tree that they relied on. In a rather unethical move, the aliens decided that because babies had a lot of life energy, they would be perfect targets. Thankfully, this plan was foiled by the Sailor Scouts, but at the very least, this episode was very memorable.
3 The Numemon Are Fighting For Me... Even Though They Can't Do Anything But Throw Poop...
The Numemon are neither powerful or sanitary, as their attacks consist of burping, and as the quote suggests, throwing their own poop. They are initially angry and chasing down the heroes in Digimon: Adventure because Mimi turned down one's offer for a date. However, they come around and protect her from Monzaemon. Mimi appears to be rather touched by the gesture, but her words are more humorous than heartwarming.
2 This Is No Good. I Can't Win If I'm A Cabbage
When Bobobo faces off against Captain Maiteru in Bobobo-bo bo-bobo, the captain reveals that his eyes are just like Medusa's. He tries to turn Bobobo into stone, but he inexplicably turns into a walking and talking carrot instead, before changing into a cabbage. He laments the fact that he is cabbage instead of lettuce, and although he states that he can't win the fight, he manages to do so regardless. Strangely, the scene is stranger with context than it is without.
1 Just According To Keikaku
One of the funniest translations comes from Death Note, in which Light Yagami is once again praising himself for planning things out perfectly. Instead of saying "just according to plan," the translator chose to keep the Japanese word in there instead and add a note at the top of the screen that translated the word regardless. It was an extra, unnecessary step, but this choice created one of the most memorable anime memes.
